Terms of Use
Last updated: October 8, 2026
The short version: Lilac is a budgeting tool, not a bank and not financial advice. You keep ownership of your data and can delete it anytime. Lilac Plus is a subscription with a 7-day free trial that renews until you cancel.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Lilac (“Lilac”, “we”, “us”) covering the Lilac mobile app, web app and website (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
2. What Lilac is (and isn’t)
Lilac helps you plan your month: you record income and spending, set budgets, bills, savings and goals, and Lilac calculates figures such as how much you can spend today. Lilac:
- is not a bank, does not hold or move your money and does not connect to your bank accounts;
- does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Figures are estimates based on what you enter, and decisions about your money are yours;
- depends on the accuracy of the information you provide.
3. Your account
You must be at least 13 years old to use Lilac (or the minimum age required in your country), and if you’re under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian, including for any purchase. Give accurate information, keep your password private and let us know if you think someone else has accessed your account. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
4. Lilac Plus, free trial and billing
- Plans. Lilac Plus is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription at the price shown before you buy. Prices may vary by country and include or exclude taxes as shown at checkout.
- Free trial. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, your subscription starts and you’re charged at the end of the trial.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- Payments and cancelling. Purchases are handled by the store or payment provider you buy through (such as the Apple App Store, Google Play or our web payment provider). You can cancel anytime in that store’s or provider’s subscription settings; cancelling stops future renewals and you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled under the policies of the store or provider you paid through, and as required by the consumer laws that apply to you.
- Price changes. If a price changes, we’ll tell you in advance and the new price applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before then.
5. Your data
The information you add to Lilac (transactions, budgets, goals and similar) belongs to you. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the Service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and its data at any time from Profile → Delete account.
6. Acceptable use
Please don’t misuse the Service. For example, don’t try to access other people’s accounts or data, interfere with or overload the Service, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, use it for anything illegal, or resell it without our permission.
7. Our content and intellectual property
The Service, including its design, logo, name, software and text, belongs to Lilac and its licensors and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service under these Terms.
8. Changes and availability
We keep improving Lilac, so features may change. We aim to keep the Service available but can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. If we make important changes to these Terms, we’ll let you know in the app or by email before they take effect.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Lilac and delete your account anytime. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or where required by law. Cancelling your account in Lilac does not cancel a store subscription: cancel that in your store settings too.
10. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that calculations will be accurate or suit your particular needs. Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have as a consumer that can’t be excluded by law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Lilac won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for losses arising from financial decisions you make using the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. These limits don’t apply where the law doesn’t allow them.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live, which continue to apply to you.
13. Contact
A contact email for questions about these Terms will be added here before Lilac launches.
